The bosses at Ellen DeGeneres Show knew of ‘toxic workplace’ allegations

Did you know that all this drama concerning Ellen DeGeneres isn’t new? People filed a complaint alleging gender discrimination and sexist remarks by top producers. This complaint was filed with an industry union 2 years ago.

So, bosses at The Ellen DeGeneres Show knew about the allegations of sexual harassment and a toxic work environment since 2018. 

By now, you are aware of the recent controversies surrounding Ellen DeGeneres. We have heard about the allegations of intimidation and racism on her talk show set. Even her former security guard said that is demeaning to work for her. So, people started sharing negative rumors about the one and only Ellen. Also, several former employees accused the producers of misconduct and sexual harassment in the workplace.

The show said that an outside investigator investigated and solved with no merit to claims of gender discrimination. According to them, they are committed to moving forward positively and constructively. They want to change things for the better.

Some stuff was fired at the Ellen DeGeneres Show

Despite all renunciation, three producers of the show were fired due to the allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct behind the scenes.

Executive producers Kevin Leman and Ed Glavin and co-executive producer Jonathan were let go. Executive producers that stay on the show are Andy Lassner, Mary Connelly, and Derek Westervelt. 

Ellen vows to keep her show a place of happiness 

Ellen DeGeneres launched her show in 2003. Now, she vows to make changes after apologizing to her employees. She said she always wanted the show to be a happy place. 

The Ellen DeGeneres Show producers respond to new allegations

The claims of a toxic workplace started in mid-July. A report contained claims of former and current employees. They claimed they had encountered intimidation, fear, and even racism during their time on the show. Then, the Ellen DeGeneres Show faced additional accusations about sexual misconduct. Dozens of men and women accused Norman, Glavin, and Leman of sexual misconduct, harassment, or assault.

The vice president of programming at Warner Bros., David McGuire, said that the current investigation will soon come to an end.

In April, the actress and comedienne came out as gay on an episode of her sitcom Ellen. Just a year later, ABC pulled the plug on the show after 5 seasons. Ellen DeGeneres, 62, launched her chat show in 2003. In 2008, Ellen married actress Portia de Rossi, and they have been together ever since.

In addition to her successful chat show, she has hosted the Emmys, the Academy Awards, and the Grammy Awards. We must admit that we have seen a lot of great moments on her show, and we do hope that everything will be solved. It’s time for all employees at her show to be happy and satisfied at work.
