How did the 35-year-old mother become Miss Germany?

Leonie von Hase, 35, was elected Miss Germany 2020. This is the first time in 93 years that a mother, over 30, and with a career is crowned with this title.

Leonie is also the oldest woman to compete since this contest began in 1927. The mother of a three-year-old child has won the annual beauty contest without having paraded in a bikini. She overcame fifteen other women in the final of Miss Germany. Leonie will now assume the role for the next twelve months.

Germany is changing history

At a time when beauty and youth are the obligatory conditions at the beauty contests, Miss Germany decided to follow a different path. This year, the representative of Germany in Miss World will be a 35-year-old mom. Leonie doesn’t fit into any of the boxes of a traditional beauty contest.

For example, the rules of Miss France clearly state that the participants must be without children and unmarried. For the edition of this year organized at the amusement park Europa-Park, the age limit for taking part in Miss Germany has been extended to ten years, to arrive at 39 years old. This is a modification only of the contest Miss Germany.

Miss Germany

The German beauty contest was under the motto “Empowering authentic women”. Now people praised it internationally for innovating and for confronting stereotyped beauty standards.

This beauty contest will remain for history since it was the first time that women up to 39 years old could participate. This Miss Germany event had a few new features besides the change in the age limit that was previously 29 years. Mothers and married women could compete, the jury was of women, and there wasn’t a bikini parade. Good job, Germany!

The most important thing is that the female jury didn’t consider only the physical. The organizers of the beauty contest wanted an “authentic” Miss Germany. So, the personality, personal and professional, or the character of the participants mattered as much as the beauty.

Who is Leonie?

She was born in Namibia, but at a young age, she started to live in Germany. In the beauty contest, she represented the state of Schleswig-Holstein, in northern Germany. Leonie von Hase is an online entrepreneur – she runs an online shop of vintage clothing. To be honest, her election was a general surprise.

She had an array of jobs across 15 years, from a stylist and a waitress to a creative director and a journalist. She is an example that you can achieve success at any age!

As a prize, she received a car with a value of 37,000 euros and many beauty products and shoes. She will also make the cover of the magazine “Joy”. A shoot at this famous German magazine is a hell of a line to add on her CV!

“My feeling of a ‘beautiful’ woman is the strength, character, and authenticity that she exudes. She is experienced in ups and downs, trained by teachings and mistakes, joys and fears – a woman who uses her weaknesses as strengths,” said Miss Germany in a statement to the official website of the beauty contest. We couldn’t agree more with her. It is evident that Miss Germany is attempting to become more with the times and more wide-ranging by allowing mums, older, and married women to take part.

Congratulations to the Miss Germany contest for becoming more ‘woke’, and congratulations to Leonie for winning!

Miley Cyrus opens up about her alcohol addiction

The Disney alum has always been open about her experience with alcohol and drugs. And like many people during the pandemic, she has gone through some ups and downs with substance.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Miley Cyrus has discussed her journey with sobriety, and she honestly opened up about relapsing.

Miley Cyrus opened up about her alcohol problems, saying she stopped drinking again, mainly because she feared she would die at the age of 27. This age was the end for many of her colleagues such as Amy Winehouse, Janice Joplin, and Jim Morrison.

Apple Music’s Zane Lowe asked the singer about her sobriety. Miley Cyrus clarified that recently during the pandemic she had broken her sobriety by drinking alcohol, but at the time of the interview, she was two weeks sober. She admitted that she fell off during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, she has finally realized that she shouldn’t be furious with herself, but ask herself what exactly happened.

Miley Cyrus completely gave up alcohol

This summer, she said that she did not decide to give up alcohol completely. But the singer has since learned that she is ‘not a moderation person’. She thinks that everyone should do what is best for them. Miley said that she doesn’t have a problem with drinking, but she has a problem with the impulsive decisions she makes once she goes past that level. She says it is not difficult for her to stay away from alcohol, but as soon as she drinks a glass, she loses control.

That is why she decided to eliminate alcohol from her lifestyle. Miley Cyrus added that she is a disciplined person: That is why it is easy for her to be sober once she decides.

Miley was afraid that she will die at the age of 27

In June, after undergoing vocal surgery, Cyrus shared that she had not drunk alcohol for six months due to her surgery.

In time, however, she began to wonder where her unhealthy relationship with alcohol came from. The singer realized that the problems in her family played a big part in this. Her parents were divorced and her father took care of her alone, and in the meantime, he had addiction problems.

However, in the last 2-3 months, Miley drank more but began to fear joining the so-called “Club 27”. This refers to a group of musicians who died before the age of 28. Losing a lot of music icons at the age of 27 made her stop drinking. Miley, who turned 28 on November 23, said that she wanted to protect herself.
